Description:The statue of Perseus stands at the northern end of Trentham Lake, and is a bronze copy of the original by Italian sculptor Benvenuto Cellini.

According to Greek mythology Perseus killed the Gorgon, Medusa, who turned those who looked upon her to stone. The Goddess Athene gave Perseus a reflective shield, which enabled him to kill Medusa without looking at her.
