Description:A view of Hayes Mill with Millbank Cottages in the background. The chimney for the drying kiln can be seen in the foreground.

Hayes Mill was built in about 1750 as a flint mill, grinding flint for use in the pottery industry. Water-powered grinding ceased in 1966, but the wash tubs, arks and drying kiln continued to be used until 1977. The buildings still stand but have since been converted into accommodation.
