Description:Ritzy's Night Club staff celebrating “Club of the Month Award” at the Riverside Recreation Centre in Stafford. In 1984 the Top of the World Night Club on Newport Road occupied the main room of the building, while Ritzy was on the ground floor and Bali Hai on the top floor. Included in this group are Arthur Alexander (back row, far left), Roger (the cellarman, back row, 3rd from left), Adrian Bates (middle row, far left), Chris Clegg (Ritzy's manager, holding the trophy), Reg Saunders (the club DJ, middle row, 2nd from right), and Heather Astley (front row, 4th from left). If you recognise anyone else in this view please contact us. This photograph was taken by Stafford photographer Tony Boydon.

Riverside Recreation Centre was closed and demolished in 2008; it was replaced by the Stafford Leisure Centre, a new £15 million pound facility which opened nearby on Lammerscote Road in April 2008. In later years there was a major redevelopment on both sides of the adjacent River Sow and the site of the former Riverside Recreation Centre became part of the Riverside Shopping Centre which opened during 2016.
