Description:Rugeley War Memorial was unveiled on Sunday, 23 January 1921 at 3.00 pm. by the Right Honourable The Earl of Dartmouth, Lord Lieutenant of the County. In later years plans were made to create a traffic-free zone for Rugeley Town Centre, also several highway modifications were required and it was decided to move the Memorial in 1972 to a new site in Brook Square. In 2008 a culvert which ran under Brook Square collapsed and this led to a decision to return the Memorial to Anson Street and place it near to the original location.
