Description:A late 18th or early 19th century milestone on Upper Gungate, Tamworth, just north of the junction with Hospital Street. the cast iron plate lists mileage to destinations: Sutton 8, Birmingahm 15, Measham 9, Ashby 13, Breedon 18 1/4, Castle Donington 22, Sawley 25 1/2 and Nottingham 35. It was repositioned when Upper Gungate was widened.
