Date:1919 - 1925 (c.)

Description:A North Staffordshire Railway truck carrying limestone is in position ready for tipping into a narrowboat. The railway brought limestone here from Cauldon Low quarries. The tippler was built in 1918-1919 on the site which is now (2016) occupied by the Stoke-on-Trent Boat Club Marina. It only remained in use until the late 1920s when the decline in canal traffic led to its closure.
