Description:The Burton Cooper statue seen here at its current location in Cooper's Square shopping centre, Burton-upon-Trent. This bronze statue was created by James Butler RA in 1977. He researched the sculpture by watching Bass coopers Erdie Lee and Joe Foster.

The statue was originally sited in the open air at the St. Modwen's Walk entrance to the shopping centre but was moved to its current position in 1994.

Cooper's Square shopping centre was originally opened on 24 March 1970 but was extensively renovated in 1994.
