Description:View from the west side of the building showing the balustraded terrace with six steps leading up to it.
Woodseat was built in 1767 for Thomas Bainbrigge of Derby, who was High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1760. It remained the home of the Bainbridges until 1861 when it was purchased by the Minton family, Stoke-on-Trent pottery manufacturers. It was sold in 1941 and fell into ruins before being purchased by JCB in 1986.
