Description:Josiah Wedgwood V, Managing Director, addressing the workforce at a ceremony to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the new factory at Barlaston.

Tom Wedgwood, who worked on the plans for the factory, is second from the left on the front row. At the rear of the stand is a large bas relief medallion of the founder of the firm, Josiah Wedgwood (1730 - 1795).
