Description:A general view of the limestone quarries at Cauldon Low showing railway connections.
On the left hand side the railway line from Leekbrook can be seen, leading to the marshaling sidings. Centre left are the tar boiler house, the original tar plants and the 'Knolly' Crusher. Near the bottom of the picture can be seen the quarry offices and weighbridge, the screens and hoppers, the old engine house and a secondary crusher, to the right of which is the dust mill. The garage can be seen to the bottom left. Top left can be seen the open countryside where only four years later Earle's were establishing their cement works. Top right is the worked-out 'Nick' quarry with the narrow gauge tramway lines running to the quarry face still visible.
