Description:Colonel Richard Byrd Levett (1810-1888) of Milford Hall is in the middle row, seated 3rd from the left. The Staffordshire Rifles, along with other volunteer rifle and milita organisations were amalgamated to form the Staffordshire Regiment in 1881 under the Childers Reforms which restructured British army infantry regiments.
