Description:A photographic postcard view of Oakamoor taken from Star Bank. In the foreground, centre left, can be seen the Cricketer's Arms, which probably dates from the construction of the turnpike road in 1762. Beyond can be seen the village's terraced housing. The earlier terraces were built by the Patten Company in the 1790s or early 1800s to house workers at the Wire Mills and Brass Works. Later housing was built by Thomas Bolton and Sons when the Brass and Copper Works expanded. These date from between 1880 and 1920.
