Date:1401 - 1500 (c.)
Description:This is a very rare document because most wills prior to the later 16th century do not survive. In this will William asks for his body to be buried in the Churchyard of St. Nicholas, Coddeshale [Codsall] and then gives the following bequests: To Sir John Arthelowe, my best cloak, hat and my best bed. To my brother Roger, my second best cloak and bed and two blankets and two sheets. To my sister Marjorie, two beds and three sheets. To Thomas Smyth, my third best cloak and cap. To Anachorite de le Prioriusly: 6s. 8d. [The Hermit of Priors Lee?]
