Description:The annual Stafford Pageant included a procession through the town, and ended with a fair on the town common. A prize was awarded to the best decorated entries and along the route collections were made for Stafford General Infirmary. Part of the pageant included a 'Mayoral Turnout' with a Local Mayor and Corporation. Different areas of the town entered their own mayoral procession, and there was often great rivalry between the districts.
