Description:Ernie Hazlehurst of Stone is pictured on the right in North Africa. Ernie was a builder by trade but also played football on several occasions in 1923 for Port Vale Football Club and later for Stone Football Club. In 1941 he became a driver in the Army, later serving in Monte Casino and North Africa in September 1945. Later in 1945 he was demobbed and returned to the building trade.
