Description:Pictured taking a break are Bill Stephens (left) and Jim Large (right), Railway Porters at Rugeley Trent Valley Station. Jim worked at the Station for 10 years until he left in 1958 to work for the Lancashire Dynamo Company on Brereton Road, Rugeley. Bill Stephens continued to work at the Station until around 1972.

The station was on the main line from Rugby to Stafford. The station building was erected by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) around the middle of the 19th century. The building was demolished in the 1960s, and replaced by a small shelter. In August 2014 the railway line forms part of the very busy West Coast Main Line.
