Description:Wesleyan summer outing to Woodhead Hall, Cheadle, the home of William Shepherd Allen, Member of Parliament for Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Once a year the Allens gave Sunday School Treats for the Cheadle churches. He also arranged trips for folk from the chapels in the Cheadle Circuit.

The charabanc full of women in their Sunday finery is seen at the top of New Road Tean near the junction with Old Road.
