Description:The Surveyor's House undergoing refurbishment in 1995, when the former estate buildings had been sold by the National Coal Board. The house is located in Park Drive and was designed by Charles Barry in the 1840s. For 60 years it was the home of Thomas Roberts, the Duke of Sutherland's esteemed Architect and Surveyor. He was responsible for all building projects on the Trentham Estate. Many of the buildings that he designed have sadly disappeared, but there are many that have survived.
