Description:This locomotive is an ex-LNWR 'Super D' 0-8-0, most likely a G1 designed by Charles Bowen-Cooke. The tall building to the right is the locomotive coaling plant.

Photograph taken on a Box Brownie camera in 1948 by Richard Rowe a native of Stafford then a sixth former at King Edward VI Grammar School. A retired Chartered Engineer Richard retains a lifelong interest in railways.
