Description:Pictured is a window display at the Co-operative Deprtment Store, Gaolgate, Stafford introducing a new range of men’s shirts, with the slogan “My Latest Capture A Rave”.

The shirts were known as ‘Rave Fashion Shirts’, part of Trutex Ltd., who also manufactured school wear. Several shirts in the display are priced at 32/6 and 39/11 each.

This window display (in the Princess Street Precinct) was part of a nation-wide competition launching the new shirts. Stafford Co-op was amongst the four national winners and all contestants received a Kodak Instamatic Camera, a prize of Two Guineas and a Premium Bond.

The mannequins were made by Adele Rootstein, London, a leading manufacturer of the day. Many were modelled from famous people.

The Display Manager was Mr Ray Fowler.
