Date:1930 - 1940 (c.)

Description:This view is looking west to The Square, Great Haywood. On the right is the Clifford Arms Hotel. The original building was demolished in the 1930s and this new hotel was built on the site.

The tree on the left of the bus was one of two planted to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee; a lorry drove into one in the 1920s, the other died a few years later.

Behind the bus is a glimpse of Trent Lane which leads to the Trent & Mersey Canal and to the Essex Bridge which crosses the River Trent and onwards to Shugborough Hall.
