Description:Extreme right, middle row is William Henry Brookes, who was born in Penkridge on 28 January 1881. He joined the 2nd Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment at Hednesford on 28 December 1899 as Pte 6062. He served in South Africa, India and during World War I on the Western Front. It is not known where or when this photograph was taken.
