Description:Photograph of the Suspension Bridge at Doveridge taken from the Staffordshire side in about 1946.

Ian Nalder and fellow pupils from Brocksford Hall School were playing Pooh sticks on the bridge over the River Dove one Sunday before church when it collapsed. Fortunately the river was low and there were no casualties. Most of the pupils had a good soaking.
