Description:Sir Arthur Nicholson's funeral procession on St Edward Street on its way to Leek Congregational Church (now Trinity Church on Derby Street).

From there the procession carried on to St. Edward's schurch, Cheddleton, where Sir Arthur is buried in the family vault.

Arthur Nicholson was born in Leek on July 15th 1842. He was the son of Joshua Nicholson a local mill owner who moved to Leek from Yorkshire and set up his business in Leek. His father Joshua is best known in Leek for the building of the Nicholson Institute. He died in Bournemouth on 9 February 1929.
