Description:This intriguing picture, probably from the first decade of the 20th century, shows a group of young boys posing with a folded strip of cloth; possibly simulating the Union Flag.

The two flag bearers are wearing what appear to be early scout hats. The boy in the centre of the back row may have a sailor suit and the one on the right of the back row may have a shoulder badge.

It is difficult to read what is on the banners being held, but the left hand one may say 'Stoke on Trent'.
