Description:The mill was seriously damaged by a tree which fell during a storm in January 1976.
Walk Mill dates from the late eighteenth century and was used for grinding corn. There was an earlier mill on this site which was used for fulling or “walking” cloth, hence the name.
Much of the milling machinery, including two (originally four) pairs of millstones remains in the tall building adjoining it seen here. Restoration work began in the 1970s but was not completed.
