Description:Hilcote Hall was the seat of the Noel family from at least 1600 until 1759. The Anson family owned the estate between 1772 and 1851. It was later the home of George Horatio Nelson, 1st Lord Nelson, Managing Director of English Electric (1930-1956) and his son, Sir Henry George Nelson, 2nd Lord Nelson, Chairman of English Electric, 1962-1968. It has been a residential care home since about 1987.

The present hall was built in the early 19th century, but includes parts of an earlier building.
