Description:The Bleak Inn on Bleak Street, Cobridge. The sign over the door identifies the pub landlord as Jacob Hambleton. Bleak Street is now known as Orgreave Street and the Inn, along with the other buildings in this view, has been demolished and the site redeveloped.

The man at the head of the horse is George William Brown (c.1876-1944). and the beer casks on the dray are from Parker's Brewery, Burslem.

The photographer was Willam Baddeley of 39 Moore Street, Cobridge, Stoke on Trent.
