Description:The Town Hall and Market Hall were built in 1878-79 and the architect was W. Tadman Foulkes. Adjoining is Penny Bank, built from the remains of the old Town Hall in Market Square which had been demolished in 1874. Both buildings were demolished in the 1980s.
