Description:Photograph of Daniel and Beatrice Jane Deaville (nee Roberts) of Wood House Farm, Grindley, taken sometime in the 1920s or 1930s.

Wood House Farm, which was next to Grindley Station on the Stafford to Uttoxeter railway line, was a mixed sheep and dairy farming business.
A special Milk Train stopped at Grindley to pick up the 17 gallon milk churns from Wood House and other surrounding farms and took them to Derby where they were then reloaded onto a London-bound train for the London market.

Daniel's parents William and Mary Randles, nee Deaville became tenants at the farm in 1879 when it was part of the Chartley Estate. Colin Randles Deaville took over the farm from his father Daniel in 1958 and worked there until his own retirement.
