Date:1914 - 1918 (c.)

Description:Although this postcard view is still recognisable today, the iron lamp stand and many of the shops on the left no longer stand, and the houses further on were demolished to extend Stonefield Park. Frederick Jacks' pharmacy can be seen on the right on the junction of Old Road and Oulton Road.

The shops on the left include B.Gregg's shop (possibly a newsagents and tobacconists - the posters oustide have news headlines from World War I), Frank Smith's butchers and Fanny Cordwell's grocers (most recently occupied by Brassington's newsagents)

On the left can be seen B. Gregg
