Description:Stonefield Park was developed on part of Wakes Field, originally owned by Joule's Brewery. The land was bought in 1923 by Stone Urban District Council for £1000.

The park was opened by Sir Ernest Johnson on 24 March 1928, and contained flower beds, a bandstand, two grass tennis courts and a bowling green. This view shows a band concert while crowds look on. The houses to the left were demolished when the children's play area was added.

A postcard view published by Louis Dutton & Son, Stationers, Stone.
