Date:1904

Description:Workers at Hollington Quarry with a horse team and timber drag. The timber was probably being delivered for use as props and supports in the quarrying process.

Hollington Stone was used to repair stonework at Covent Garden Market, Ludlow Castle and Dudley Castle. There were two quarries at Hollington run by the Stevensons, one produced white sandstone and the other produced red sandstone. When her husband John died in 1916 Mary Stevenson took over the management of the White Turn Quarry. Her stepson George Stephenson owned the Red Quarry.
