Date:1916 - 1930 (c.)

Description:Looking from Granville Square, southwards along Stone High Street. On the right is the war memorial. Looming over the shops is the tower of Joule's Brewery, greatly altered over the years, and finally demolished in 1977 to make way for what is now (in 2012) the Co-operative Supermarket.

A postcard view by Stone photographer Phillip Dutton, of 63 High Street. This postcard is postmarked 24 August 1937 but was probably taken some years earlier.
