Date:1902 - 1905 (c.)

Description:Looking south along the High Street, Stone, decorated for a royal occasion. Note the supports made from casks belonging to Joule's Brewery. This postcard view is dated 21 August 1905, so the occasion may be the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.

On the left can be seen the timber-framed Black Horse, and further down are Lawley's ironmongers, the Fountain Inn and the Unicorn Hotel. On the right are Joule's Brewery offices and the Post office lamp post, the site now (2012) occupied by the Co-operative Supermarket.
