Description:Tables are laid ready for the day's customers in this postcard view. The Darlaston Cafe was a regular watering hole for travellers on the A34; the main route north-south through Staffordshire before the M6. Opened in 1929 by Donald Campbell, it was one of a number of road-side cafés and petrol stations on the stretch of road between Tittensor and Stone. It was later known as Silver Birches Cafe and is now (2022) part of R M Commercials.
A note on the reverse reads: "Bought this on the spot, returning from Horsham, 23/11/35."
