Description:Granville Secondary Modern School's woodwork classroom was in the Kitchener Institute on the corner of Vistor Street and Berkeley Street. the building also housed the school's Domestic Science room. The woodwork teacher at the time of the photograph was Frank Phillips.

Built on Old Road in 1935, Granville Secondary Modern School merged with Alleyne's School in 1969 to form the comprehensive Alleyne’s High School. Since the three-tier school system was introduced in Stone in 1976 the buildings have been the home of Christchurch Middle School.
