Description:Sir Simon Degge (1612-1702), lawyer. He was born at Stramshall, near Uttoxeter. A Royalist, he was arrested as a Royalist during the English Civil War and released in 1643-1644 on condition that he remained at Stafford. He was High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1675. Degge was buried at Kingstone church, Staffordshire.
