Description:William Burton (1575-1645), antiquarian, lawyer and writer. He is best known for his 'Description of the County of Leicestershire', published in 1622. In 1603 he retired as a lawyer, due to ill health, to his estates at Fauld, near Tutbury. He is buried at Hanbury Church.
