Description:A lantern slide view of Union Street during the flood of October 1875 (the date of 1879 on the slide is a mistake), showing the street from its junction with Station Street, with Emery's shop on corner. The October flood was the second that year, the earlier one having occurred in July. Together the floods caused serious damage estimated at £100,000.
