Description:Finney's Post is part of an ornately carved mediaeval oak post, which once stood at the corner of the Market Place and High Street.

The post was for many years displayed in the Burton Museum and was on long term loan from the Victoria and Albert Museum. From 1981 until 2007 it was on display at the Meadowside Leisure Centre, before being returned to the V & A.

Finney's Post is part of an ornate mediaeval oak post, which once stood at the corner of the Market Place and High Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England.

The post's name is based on a story attached to Mrs Albert Finney of Clay's Lane, Stapenhill, a baker's assistant. She had apparantly died of consumption and legend has it that she was brought back to life when her coffin accidentally crashed into the post.
