Description:Lithograph print. A caricature of Sir Alexander James Edmund Cockburn (1802-1880), lawyer and judge, by 'Ape', with caption 'The Lord Chief Justice of England' . Appeared in 'Vanity Fair' 11th December 1869.

As Attorney General, he led for the crown in the trial of William Palmer, the Rugeley Poisoner. He also presided over the famous trial of the Tichborne Claimant in 1871.
