Description:Oil painting. Half-length portrait of Lieutenant Colonel George Augustus Anson, C.B.E. (1857-1947). Chief Constable of Staffordshire, 1888-1929.
Born at Shugborough, he was the third son of the 2nd Earl of Lichfield and Lady Harriet Hamilton daughter of the Duke of Abercorn, and lived at Green Hall, Stafford.
