Description:Bert Wheeldon was the third generation of tailors in the family business. His grandfather opened his first shop in Rocester in 1873, and his son (Bert's father) moved to Abbots Bromley to open a shop in 1906. Another shop was opened in Ashbourne between 1926 and 1936. Bert Wheeldon could 'kit you out from top to toe, make everything, including your boots'. After the shop on Bagot Street was closed the fixtures, equipment and contents were collected by the Staffordshire County Museum at Shugborough. The reconstructed shop was part of the Museum's displays and is now part of the Staffordshire County Museum collection. .
