Description:The Phoenix ironworks stood on Market Street. They were brass and ironfounders who specialised in abricultural and dairy equipment. The works were owned by R.J. Harris and Son and was one of the last ironworks to survive in Rugeley.
This photograph was taken at the back of the tin shop where refrigerators for farmers were made. 'Papa' is standing 2nd from right. Others pictured include: Whittaker, Edge, Hitchener, Pendlebury, Keatley. The young boy centre front is "Jacko" from Sandy Lane - he made the tea. The photographer was Payne of Rugeley.
