Date:1890 - 1892 (c.)

Description:Rock Cottage stood on the edge of Cannock Chase, not far from Milford Common and was built into the rock, hence its name. 'Milford Hole' was the home of a number of families, living in what were originally squatters' cottages. The couple by the doorway are believed to be Ann and Samuel Evans. Although now demolished evidence of the cottage still exists in the rock face.
