Description:The Milford and Brocton Station opened in the 1870s and served the Trent Valley Stafford-Rugby line. Pictured in this photograph are the Station master, Josiah Mayhew, holding the hand of a little boy who is probably his son, William Taylor Mayhew. The woman may be Josiah's wife, Annie (born Annie Malcolm), the girl either Emma or Elizabeth Mayhew and the other railman Josiah's brother William Mayhew (who was signalman at Milford).

Milford was a very popular weekend destination for visitors in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Excursion trains ran between Stafford and Milford stations.

Milford & Brocton Station closed in 1950 and the goods facility on March 7th 1960.
