Description:This photograph shows the inside of the Orme Boys' School, Newcastle-under-Lyme that was built on the Higherland in 1851. Gothic in architectural style the school does resemble a church from the inside. The long classroom is laid out with desks and benches. The large window at the front of the room is the main source of light for the building.
