Description:This early photograph from 1910 shows Red Lion Square in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Three Tuns Pub stands in the centre of the picture with with a barrel suspended outside to indicate a public house. A group of local men, possibly the innkeeper and his staff and shopkeepers from round about form the group standing in front of the pub. To the right of the picture Wain's Chemists can be seen on the corner next to St Giles' Church with its distinctive tower rising up into the background.
