Description:Oil painting of Daniel surrounded by six lions. Daniel is sitting, wearing a long pink robe. Plain wooden frame. Inscription, bottom left: 'Findler / Painter / 1846'. Artist: Isaac Findler (1809-1888) of Cheddleton, Staffordshire.

Findler was a painter of religious themes and rural views. He is listed in local directories as a house painter and decorator from about 1832. Amateur painter and photographer.
